Introduction to Bushcraft and Survival

Family Bushcraft Day

Family Bushcraft Weekend

Wild Food and Wilderness Cookery Day

Jerry Dicker, Thornbury

I wanted to write and say how much my daughter and I enjoyed the Family Bushcraft weekend. Dave the tutor was excellent. He kept things moving without pressure. None of the adults felt patronised – we all learnt a lot. None of the children felt out of their depth – they all had a great time. I will recommend the course to my friends.

Dean and Connor Todd

Just a thank you for the family weekend. My son and I appreciated the time given and the skills taught over the 2 days. We look forward to seeing you all again on more courses. Once again many thanks.

Kerry and Antony, Leicestershire

Thanks Dave and Alex for such a fantastic experience at your lovely camp. My son faced his fears of sleeping outside and learnt that nature and insects are sharing our Planet and not just here to bite and scare us!! The dusk walk was very informative and highly enjoyable, seeing bats flying in the sunset was an awesome sight, and learning about the woodlands natural resources for survival was very valuable to my sons development in his life skills. The added entertaining of Dave’s singing by the campfire was a delight, what more can a group of people ask for? We will be back to learn new skills for sure.

Matt Healey, Head of Kingswood Inspiring Learning

Dave has been an invaluable support in making Kingswood Inspiring Learning an award winning organisation, delivering high quality outdoor learning programmes. Via his expert tuition to our staff, combined with his extensive expertise and his unique and engaging approach, Dave has revolutionised our delivery of Bushcraft, and changed a few lives along the way.

Elly Dolan, Forest School Association Director

My weekend on your training course was one of the highlights of my year.

Andy Barclay, Cornwall Outdoors

Just a quick line to say thank you so much for the training day last week. Everyone has been buzzing about it. It was truly informative and inspiring. Thanks so much for coming such a long way and giving us such a good day.

Sarah Lawfull, FSA Director Where the Fruit is

Training with Dave, over the years, has given me confidence to step back from teaching rules about practical skills to ask questions, fully engaging in understanding the purpose, materials, equipment, approaches, techniques and to trust my learners. This approach to practical skills works with children and adults of all stages and ages. It fits brilliantly with the ethos and principles of Forest School.

Jon Webb, Coach and Facilitator

The Tower 42, London management team travelled ventured north to spend 24 hours in the woodland. The whole experience, including foraging for food, shelter, and fire materials, was positive, challenging and enlightening. Although the event was a while ago they still talk about it and have fond memories of the fun and light challenges they had.
